We are excited to go caroling at Holly Hill this Wednesday with Cub Scout Pack 787.
WHEN: WEDNESDAY, DEC. 14, 6:45 – 8 PM
LOCATION: Holly Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 531 Stevenson Lane, 21286 (near the intersection of York Road and Stevenson).
IMPORTANT PARKING INFO: There are limited spots in the Holly Hill lot. Please coordinate carpooling within your den OR drop off your Scout at Holly Hill (den leaders will be there to stay with Scouts), then park in Wiltondale, Stoneleigh or behind SES (on Kimway off of Stevenson) and walk to Holly Hill. For safety’s sake, please avoid walking on Stevenson Lane with children; it is dark and parts of it lack sidewalks. At the end of the evening, den leaders will stay with Scouts in the lobby while parents go and get their car. No Scout will be unattended.
SONG SHEETS: The Pack will have song sheets for all carolers, and Dave Lingg, former Pack den leader and great song leader, will play piano.
MAY SIBLINGS COME? Yes! We welcome families to this event. Anyone who wishes to sing may–the more, the merrier! As with every Cub Scout outing/event, parents are responsible for the behavior of their children.
WHAT DO BOYS WEAR? Please wear the Class “A” uniform and a holiday hat, if your Scout desires. If not, wear the Cub Scout hat.
WHAT ABOUT HOLIDAY CARDS? A few dens made cards to give to seniors. If you did not at your den meeting, that’s fine. Cards are not required. You are welcome, of course, to make holiday cards. Do not include a name or address the card, as the boys who make cards will give them to an unassigned resident. Cards may be as simple or as elaborate as you would like, and you may make as many as you would like. Siblings may make cards as well. Any effort will be very much appreciated by the residents. Children will hand their card(s) to a senior at the beginning of caroling.
Caroling at a senior facility is a tradition of our Pack, and it will be a wonderful way to share the holiday spirit.
